Leading global provider of engineered electronic components and specialty products, TE Connectivity recently completed Toy Factory at the Kerry Hotel in Shanghai.

This Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) teambuilding, had the theme of Getting Connected and involved teams working together to assemble, paint and complete a set of toys for donation to a children’s charity.

The challenge began with a series of brain teasers to earn important equipment such as toy parts, glue, brushes and sanding paper. Quickly teams had sort the component parts and refer to detailed plans for efficient assembly.

Role delegations were decided and production lines were created ensuring that the right person was in the correct job function and making best use of their skills. Toys created included fighter jets, racing cars, jewellery boxes, trains and dinosaurs.

Following an inspiring presentation from XINTU charity organisation, the toys were gift wrapped, with accompanying personal cards from each team. Then they were presented to the Chairperson to take back to the young people at the charity.

This unique teambuilding charitable programme, ensured high engagement from all participants and provided a memorable and meaningful event to finish off the Asia conference.

“Toy Factory is indeed a great corporate social responsibility programme, which had our team highly engaged and passionate to deliver great results, providing excellent metaphors for getting connected in the business environment” TE Connectivity
